O Lord Gauranga, O most precious treasure, O unlimited ocean of love of Godhead, where do you come
from - You are the Lord and maintainer of the helpless, the true friends of the downtrodden.
All glory to You Lord Visvambhar, the most powerful and regal of the brahmanas, victory to all Your associates who are like honey bees attracted to the nectar of Your lotus
feet. You are as dear to Paramananda Puri as his own life, and You are the greatest wealth Svarupa Damodara
possesses. You are very dear to Srila Rupa Gosvami and Srila Sanatana Gosvami, and the heart of
Jagadish and Gopinath. 1-3
Lord Visvambhar continues performing His pastimes in Navadvip, not visible to every
eye. The blessed Srivas Pandit sits in his house situated in the central island of Navadvip and sees the endless and marvelous pastimes of the
Lord. He serves the Lord with pure love and sees the Maha prakasa' lila pastime with the other
Vaisnavas. 4-6
Lord Nityananda was residing in Srivas Pandit's house and loved and respected him as His
father. Lord NItyananda was always manifesting the mood of a little child who drank Malini's (Srivas's wife) breast
milk. 7-8
Malini's breast had long dried up but on Lord Nityananda's touch milk flowed again in her
breast. She was amazed at such miraculous happenings. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu ordered her not to reveal this to anyone, everyday she saw Lord Nityananda's child like
behavior. 9-10
Lord Visvambhar said to Lord Nityananda, "Listen Nityananda, so that You avoid arguments and fights with anyone, do not behave recklessly in Srivas's
house." Lord Nityananda objected saying, "Krishna! You can never see Me acting
reckless. You cannot find another person as well behaved as I am." Lord Visvambhar replied, "I know You too well", Nityananda said, "Let Me hear You point out my mistakes and ill
behavior." 11-14
Smiling, Lord Chaitanya said, "You want to know Your mistakes - You throw showers of rice in every
room." Lord
Nityananda said, "but this is the work of a madman and such mischief must be stopped; You want to falsely blame Me and not give Me any food to
eat. If You want to eat all by Yourself that is alright with Me, but why do you defame Me to
everyone?" 15-17
Lord Chaitanya replied, "I feel ashamed to rectify misconduct and so I am trying to rectify
You". Lord Nityananda smiled and said, "That is very good! You must always teach Me whenever You see Me
misbehaving. You are correct in assuming that I an the culprit". He then broke into peals of
laughter. 18-20
Lord Nityananda became immersed in an ocean of happiness. His ambient receded to oblivion and taking His cloth He tied it around the head, standing naked before
all. He pranced about in great leaps bubbling with laughter, staggering sometimes like a drunk
man. 21-22
Gadadhara Pandit, Srivas Pandit and Haridas beheld this sight of the Lord's special mercy for it was meant to teach a lesson to the whole
world. 23-24
Lord Visvambhar held Nityananda and said, "What are you doing? This is most
improper at the home of a householder. Just now, You told Me You are not a mad
man. But just see, You have give up Your own words" 25
How can words make a person ashamed if he is totally devoid of external
consciousness? This was the case with Nityananda Prabhu. He simply floated in
the ocean of bliss. Lord Visvambhar then personally put clothes on the body of
Nityananda prabhu. Such were the inconceivable activities of Lord Nityananda. Nityananda Prabhu is just like a maddened
lion. He is only controlled by the
words of Sri Chaitanya and nobody else. 26-28
Nityananda Prabhu never eats food with His own hands. Malini devi fed Him like a
loving son. This chaste mother knew the transcendental glories ot Nityananda.
Therefore, she served Him exactly as a mother serves her son. 29-30
One day a crow came and took a bell metal bowl and flew away to the forest. As
soon as the crow went out of sight, mother Malini became worried. The crow left
the bowl in its nest and then returned. Malini devi saw the crow's mouth was
empty. The behavior of Srivas Pandit was very strict. Moreover, the bowl stolen
by the crow was used to keep ghee for Krishna. She was afraid her husband would
be very upset when he heard what happened. Unable to know what to do, she began
to cry. 31-35
Just then Lord Nityananda came there and saw tears streaking down Malini devi's
eyes. Smiling
He asked, "Why are you
crying? Tell me what's your distress and I will surely relieve it." 36-37
Malini devi replied, "O listen Sripad Gosai. A crow has taken away the bowl
which we use for keeping Krishna's ghee." Nityananda Prabhu replied,
"Mother, do not worry. I will bring back the bowl." 38-39
Turning to the crow, He said, "O crow, go at once and bring back the bowl."
Lord Nityananda is within everyone's heart. Who can disobey His
order? Ordered by Nityananda Prabhu, the crow instantly flew away. Malini devi
looked on overwhelmed with lamentation. Soon the crow went out of sight and in a
short while returned with the bowl in his mouth. The crow placed the bowl in
front of Malini devi and left. Malini devi knew well the glories of Lord
Nityananda. 40-44
Seeing this wonderful incident, she swooned in ecstatic love. After recovering,
she stood up with folded hands and began to offer prayers. 45
"He brought back the dead
son of His guru. He maintains the entire universe. He can bring anyone back from
the house of Yamraj. For Him to bring the bowl from a crow is not at all
wonderful. On His head rests innumerable universes and He maintains them out of
His own sweet pastimes. his holy names destroy all ignorance. For Him to bring
the bowl from a crow is not at all wonderful." 46-49
In an earlier incarnation, You constantly protected mother Sita during the exile
as Lakshman. You never saw any of mother Sita's body except her lotus feet. Your
formidable arrows killed the family of Ravan. For You to bring the bowl from a
crow is not a wonderful thing." 50-52
Seeing Your great power, Kalindi fell at Your lotus feet and offered prayers.
You possess the strength to maintain the fourteen worlds. For You to bring the
bowl from a crow is not a wonderful thing. Still, Your activities are not
ordinary Whatever You do is a truth. This is confirmed by all the four Vedas."
53-55
Hearing Malini devi's prayers, Lord Nityananda began to smile. In His childhood
mood He said, "O mother, I want to eat something." Whenever Malini devi saw Lord Nityananda, milk oozed out of her breasts out of spiritual parental love and Lord Nityananda in order to
fulfill her motherly desire sucked on her breast like a child. These are some of the inconceivable pastimes of Lord Nityananda, my capacity to describe all this limited, the pastimes of the Lord are already widely known all over the
world. 56-58
His activities are extraordinary and difficult to understand, those who know Him in truth can easily believe in all His
pastimes. Lord Nityananda is always totally engrossed in ecstasy and He moves about Nadia as does the brilliant sun across the azure
vault. 59-60
A mystic yogi or a learned scholar or anybody may think and say anything about Lord Nityananda, people may comment that Lord Nityananda is not a close associate of Lord Chaitanya, I do not care to hear about any such remarks, I only pray that His lotus feet remain imprinted in the depths of my
heart. 61-62
There are many atheists who criticize Lord Nityananda, in spite of hearing His glory, I kick them in the head hoping for the Lord's mercy on
them. Lord Nityananda is so lost in His transcendental pastimes in Srivas Pandit's house that Lord Gauranga has
to look after Him. 63-64
One day Lord Visvambhar was sitting peacefully at His house with Lakshmipriya.
Lakshmipriya was supplying betel nuts to the Lord with great happiness. Absorbed
in the service of the Lord, she was unable to tell if it was day or night.
Whenever mother Sachi saw Srimati Lakshmipriya devi and Lord Visvambhar
together, she became extremely happy. Knowing that seeing Them together pleases
His mother, the Lord would spend time with Lakshmipriya. 65-68
Around this time Lord Nityananda, who was always immersed in bliss came to Lord Chaitanya's house in a
restless mood. He stood before everyone, naked like an innocent child, fully
absorbed in love of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, not feeling any shame. 69-70
Lord Chaitanya enquired, "Nityananda where are Your clothes?" Nityananda replied with a smile, "It is so, it is
so." Lord Chaitanya said, "Nityananda wear your clothes." He replied, "Today I
leave." Lord Chaitanya insisted,
"O Gosai, why are You doing this?" Nitai said, "I can't eat today."
Lord Chaitanya said, "When I say something why do you answer with a completely different
subject?" Nitai replied, "I went there ten times." 71-74
Angrily Lord Chaitanya said, "It is not my fault." Nitai replied, "My Lord,
Your mother is not here." Lord Chaitanya said, "be merciful and please get
dressed." Lord Nityananda said, "Yes, now I'll eat." Nityananda
Prabhu was fully maddened in the love of Sri Chaitanya. He heard something and
answered something else. Lord Nityananda wanders all over Nadia laughing
joyfully. 75-77
Sri Gauranga then got up and personally dressed Nitai. Lord Nityananda, the son
of Padmavati, kept on laughing completely lost in trance. Mother Sachi smiled seeing Nityananda's activities and felt a motherly affection towards him thinking of
Visvambhar. His words strongly reminded her of her older son and sometimes He even looked like
him. Unknown to anyone mother Sachi felt equal love for both Lord Nityananda and Lord
Visvambhar. 78-81
When Lord Nityananda came out of his trance he dressed himself properly. Mother
Sachi gave him five milk cakes (sandesh) to eat. Nitai put one of the sweets in his mouth and threw the other four sweets far
away. Sachi devi raised an alarm saying, "Alas, alas, why are you throwing it
away?" Lord Nityananda replied, "Why did you put all the sweets in one
place?" Sachi devi said, "I do not have anything more, what will you eat
now?" Lord Nityananda answered, "ask for it and it will be certainly there."
82-85
On entering her kitchen, mother Sachi was greeted by a wonderful surprise. She saw the four sweets thrown away by Nitai were
there in the kitchen. She thought out aloud, "Where were the sweet cakes thrown and how could they be here
now?" Sachi devi was amazed and amused she removed the dust particles from the sweet cakes and came to
offer them back to Lord Nityananda. To her astonishment, she saw that Lord
Nityananda was eating those very sweets! Mother Sachi said, "My son, where did
You get these sweets?" Lord Nityananda replied, "At first I threw them
away. But seeing your distress, I
brought them back." 86-90
Seeing these wonderful acts, Sachi devi considered in her mind that who can know the extraordinary qualities of Nityananda
Prabhu. To Nityananda Prabhu she said, "Nityananda why do you bewilder me in this
manner? I know very well that You are the Supreme Lord Balaram, please therefore remove
Your illusory potency
from me." 91-92
Lord Nityananda exhibiting the mood of a young boy went running after Sachi devi to touch her feet as she tried desperately to escape
Him. Such are the super excellent activities of Lord Nityananda. They bring pleasure to the pious devotees but to the envious it brings
pain. 93-94
Those envious and sinful wretches who criticize Lord Nityananda become so contaminated that even Ganga devi who purifies everything runs away from
him. Lord Nityananda is the Supreme Lord of the Vaisnavas, as Ananta-Sesh, He holds the universe on
His hood. Although I have no attachment for Lord Nityananda and Lord Chaitanya I pray that the treasure of the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda be firmly situated in the inner recesses of my
heart. This is my earnest desire
for which I beg at the feet of all Vaisnavas, let Nityananda Prabhu, Lord Balaram be my supreme Lord and
master. 95-98
Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya and Lord Nityananda are my life and soul, I Vrindavan
das offer this song at their lotus feet. 99
