VRAJA – the very name conjures a mystical vision of the land of the Master of Mystics, Sri Krishna. Vraja represents the timeless adage of Vedic wisdom incorporating blissful mantras in rustic melodies.
Vraja, the land of Krishna, influences Vraja - the music group. This influence represents the formation of sounds beyond time… and so evolves a new genre of music whose very essence is mantras in pure-goodness developed through the ages by self-realized sages.
The Vedic texts describe this present age as the Age of Quarrel (kali-yuga) due to people being predominantly enamored by a grossly materialistic lifestyle. A lifestyle that depends primarily on
inability to refrain from committing mistakes
wanting to be under illusion
propensity to cheat, and
a helpless need to gather information thru interaction of imperfect senses.
Amidst all this turmoil, there
prevails an unending quest for happiness. Vedic texts
Having experienced the same, we at Vraja wish to share this blissful disposition with all humanity. The means and end are the same -- music and dance! Vraja gravitates towards Dream-house, Trance and Contemporary Rock styles mixed with mantra chants that are pleasing to all. When we participate in this process of bona-fide chanting and dancing, the sound vibrations raise our consciousness to a naturally blissful state. As it goes, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating!"

Mantra
Music
In Sanskrit, ‘Manah’
means mind, and ‘tra’ means to free. Specialized sounds that free our
mind from material ramifications to a state of lasting spiritual bliss is
mantra defined. The delineation does not end here, for mantras work through
powerful sound vibrations. When one chants these prescribed mantras and
subscribes to its audible reception, the vibrations automatically
influence the mind and pushes one's consciousness towards a more blissful reality.
Vraja combines modern and classical music to this sublime process of chanting which evokes a powerful combination of sound vibration. Needless to say, this formula works without fail.
